Lorenzo Contreras, 43, lifelong Hereford resident lost his battle with cancer and died Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Baptist St. Anthony’s Hospice in Amarillo.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 29, 2012 in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 4111 E 6th Street. Rev. Israel Olivo, Pastor of the Dimmitt Assembly of God Church, will officiate. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.
Lorenzo Contreras was born November 8, 1968 in Hereford to Elario “Larry” and Rosa (Leon) Contreras. He graduated from Hereford High School and worked in the seed industry. Lorenzo was a Christian and a member of the Assembly of God. He had a passion for watching the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns. Lorenzo like to BBQ, play pool, watch sports of any kind and most of all, help others who were in need.
Lorenzo was preceded in death by 1 brother Elario Contreras Jr., 1 sister Norma Contreras and grandparents.
Survivors include his parents, 1 son Johnathan Perez of Amarillo, 3 brothers George Contreras, Gilbert Contreras, Jaime Contreras, 2 sisters Mary Soto all of Hereford, Erma Contreras of New Jersey and grandmother Maria Leon of Hereford.
