Frances Marie (Finch) Block 91, longtime Hereford resident died Monday April 9, 2012 in Amarillo.

A celebration of life service is scheduled for 2:00 pm Thursday April 12, 2012 at Hereford Heritage Funeral Home with Rev. Ted Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Rest Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home, 411 E. 6th Street.

Frances was born June 26, 1920 in Mobeetie, Texas to E.C. and Della Finch. She married Ivan L. Block in Oklahoma on March 19, 1940. They moved to the Hereford area from Kress, Texas. She was a member of L'Allegra Study Club and was involved in various church organizations. Frances loved to read and study her Bible. She took great pride in herself as well as her appearance. She was an amazing cook and loved to fix the family meals for holidays and other family gatherings.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, husband Ivan, 1 granddaughter Taylor Bohrer, 1 brother Buddy Finch, and 1 sister Clairine Hill.

Survivors include 1 daughter Rojean Block, 2 sons Lewis Block and wife Linda, David Block and wife Lynn of Kerrville, Texas, 1 sister Betty Woods of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 1 sister-in-law Frances Finch of Amarillo, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Family suggests memorials to the Nazarene Christian Academy School at 1410 La Plata Drive, Hereford, Texas 79045.
