Opal Lee (Jenkins) Walker, 79, former Hereford resident died Tuesday, April 3, 2012 in Amarillo.

A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, April 11, 2012 in Hereford Heritage Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 411 E 6th Street. Burial will follow in West Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Hereford Heritage Funeral Home.

Opal was born January 25, 1933 in Estellene, Texas to James and Marie (White) Jenkins. Opal was a homemaker and a Baptist. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved to have family gatherings and spoil her grandchildren. She loved her Lord and Savior.

Opal was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Walker in 1971, 4 brothers and 2 sisters.

Survivors include 1 son Joe Walker and wife Sandra of Amarillo, 4 daughters Helen Stotts, Laynette Walker, Quen Esther Walker all of Amarillo, Angela Walker of Hereford, 2 brothers, Earl Jenkins and wife Shirley, T.J. Jenkins and wife Sharon both all of California, 2 sisters Mary Ball of Hereford, Catherine Samuels of Midland, 14 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren.
